These organic, rolled, barley flakes are hulled, steamed, rolled, and partially de-branned barley berries. They’re similar to rolled oats in absorption and thickness, but provide a distinct, slightly nutty flavor. Barley is full of important nutrients, including protein, fiber, copper, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, selenium, zinc, and vitamins B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), and B6.

You can use these rolled barley flakes in pretty much any recipe that calls for oats. They’re tasty as a hot cereal or mixed into muesli and baked goods.

Directions
Add barley flakes to boiling water using a 1:3 ratio. Cook 20 minutes or until soft. If pressure cooking, cook 4–6 minutes using a 1:2 ratio.
