These black chickpeas are creamy white on the inside, so if you see what looks like a white seed inside your bag, don't worry—it’s just the inside of a chickpea that has just cracked open.

Directions
Presoak 1 cup of garbanzo beans in 4 cups of water overnight or for 8–10 hours. Drain and discard soaking water. Bring 6 cups of water to a rolling boil in a large pot. Add soaked beans, reduce heat, and let simmer for 35 min. Check softness with a fork, drain, and cool.
