Buckwheat (which is not part of the wheat family) is actually a plant crop that produces a seed that is triangular in shape and has a black hull. The hull has been removed in this grain leaving it a greenish yellow color. It can be ground into flour or cooked whole. A favorite addition to waffles and pancakes.

Directions

Bring 2 cups of water to a rolling boil then add 1 cup of buckwheat groats and cook for 10-15 minutes.
